I have been told by site owners that their web designer told them their CMS does the SEO automatically so they need not worry about it. This is just nonsense. The best a CMS system is going to do for you is use what you input. If you input the right things in the right places then the CMS is going to output your data in the right places. Problems moving WordPress from one folder to another
I have had quite a lot of difficulty (about 3 days of it) moving a Wordpress site out of a development folder to the root of a website and thought it might be helpful to record my experience. Issues are caused by hosting configurations and the key to this whole process is that the Wordpress and Wordpress Plugins should be used to set up the relevant directories, not ftp, otherwise there may be permissions problems. So the order things are done may be critical if you have a hosting configuration that is causing permissions problems and if the hosting company has a Wordpress installation mechanism it might be wise to use it.
